I read about this product in the book Easy Green Living and now that I am on a 'green', all-natural kick I thought I would give it a try- albeit very skeptically. This deodorant is the best! I am a very, very active person. I bike everyday, weight-lift a few times a week, take yoga classes, and still have time to walk my dogs. I have tried every anti-antiperspirant/deodorant out there, especially the kinds that say they are for sports. I have never found one that worked which meant I was harming my body for nothing! After reading the labels I say they all had aluminum! Well, into the trash they went. With Crystal, I am completely satisfied. It is really weird because I still sweat, slightly, but there is no odor at all, even at the end of the day. And, I don't feel the need to re-apply all day either. It baffles me, but it works! It's nice not to have to run around scratching my armpits like a monkey.
I tried a couple of other kinds of natural unscented deodorants. One smelled like pine trees (Tom's) and the other smelled like beer (Kiss My Face). And considering that neither of them worked, they both smelled like body odor after a few hours. This was in the winter, too. And I sweat less than most people!!!
I purposely waited for summer and for my trip to Texas before writing this review. This deodorant is really REALLY scentless, I don't look like a monkey, and IT ACTUALLY WORKS. Like, I put it on ONCE in the morning and it works for the whole day.

I bought the Crystal for Men mineral salts stick at the drug store back in October '07. I didn't know to dry it off after use, so it started deteriorating, so that eventually when I applied it, the craggy edges pulled my hair (sorry if that's TMI). Then I read the reviews for the roll-on and decided to try it. I've been using it for a week, and I just love it. I shower in the morning after the gym, so when I go to the gym at 5:30 a.m., I've had the stuff on for about 21 hours already, and it's still going strong. Yeah, I sweat, and a lot, but I don't stink, not at all. It's so freeing to wear this and when you take a shower you don't have to use steel wool to get products like Mitchum anti-perspirant off your skin. It really works, both the stick and roll-on. I'm a total convert.

I've tried both the roll on and crystal stick and this is my favorite of the two. It is VERY effective and you can feel good about using a product that is natural. It also seems somewhat effective in controlling wetness, even though it is not touted as such. I highly recommend this product! Help other customers find the most helpful reviews

A natural deodorant that actually works!, March 18, 2008

Even though, there is not yet any scientific evidence that aluminum chlorohydrate and other chemicals found in antiperspirant deodorants cause breast cancer or Alzheimer's disease, I believe reducing the chemicals and metals that we introduce to our bodies, can only be a good thing. So, in my quest to find an alternative to everyday antiperspirant deodorants with chemicals and aluminum chlorohydrate, I tried quite a few natural alternatives without much luck. The only one that even somewhat cut it as a deodorant was the Crystal stick. The biggest problem with Crystal stick, was it didn't last much more than 6 hours and it was a pain to apply (Running under water). Then I found the Crystal roll-on over a year ago, and I'll never use anything else. It works all day 99% of the time and is easy to apply.
If you are like me and have used an antiperspirant deodorant all you life, it is a little weird getting used to a plain deodorant, since you will naturally sweat and have damp armpits most of the time. But, I think that is a worthwhile trade-off for the health benefits of eliminating chemicals and aluminum chlorohydrate.

I hate anti-perspirant with something of a passion. It cakes going on, it burns after you shave, it leaves marks on your clothing ... I have little luck with it.
I came across a Tom's of Maine deodorant and enjoyed using that, for the most part, but when it ran out I looked for another alternative. My significant other was using this product in the solid form, and I really enjoyed it. However, living in a college dorm, it's not always practical to bring your deodorant into the bathroom with you to run it under a sink, so I purchased the roll-on version.
Simply put, I love it. I apply it twice a day, maximum. Now, I don't use it during the warmer months, simply because the huge pools of sweat under my arms aren't too attractive, but I don't *smell*. Just let it dry a little before putting on a top and you'll be fine.
One other plus--I have another salt deodorant, but this one does NOT burn when I put it on after I shave my underarms. I think that's fantastic. I highly recommend it.
